For all you mid-century modern design lovers out there, you'll fall head over heels for Crestview Doors, an Austin-based company run by husband and wife team, David and Christiane Erwin.

Frustrated by the lack of selection when it came to front doors (including their own), they merged their backgrounds in marketing, design, business and e-commerce and launched Crestview Doors in 2007. All of their solid wood entry doors are inspired by vintage '50s and '60s designs.
"We originally thought it would be great to make one or two doors a month. Instead, we started selling one or two doors a day almost immediately!" says Christiane.
This demand prompted them to employ more environmentally-friendly practices, but they're a young company which makes it difficult to negotiate with suppliers at times. Still, they've introduced sustainably-harvested certified wood products and eco-resin windows along with a new line that focuses on energy efficiency and weather resistance.
"One thing I love about what we do is how it brings mid-century values back to life as well. We're strongly committed to old-fashioned customer service and high standards of quality. In a disposable culture, these values often seem like they have long ago expired." We couldn't agree more.
